Acupuncturist and Chinese Medicine practitioner

Fiona Franklin

Fiona is a registered Acupuncturist and Chinese Medicine practitioner. After completing her studies, Fiona established a business called On The Road Acupuncture, where she provides Acupuncture and Chinse Medicine to remote and rural communities around Australia. Fiona believes that all Australians deserve access to proper healthcare and it is her mission to provide allied healthcare, education and emotional and physical support to people from all walks of life.

Fiona utilises traditional acupuncture which is a painless and gentle healing art, that is often utilised alongside various modalities including Cupping, Gua Sha, Chinese Massage (Tui Na), Chinese Herbal Medicine, moxibustion as well as lifestyle and dietary advice. Fiona’s holistic treatment approach focuses on supporting the body, mind and spirit to bring the individual back into balance and allow for the best outcome for the client.

Fiona practices Neoclassical Acupuncture, which is a revolutionary, palpatory style of acupuncture which provides immediate feedback with each needle placed. This style has become one of the fastest growing styles in Europe and Mexico for its immediate efficacy with very few needles. Neoclassical Acupuncture was developed by Dr Slate Burris, derived from 11th-century knowledge. The system relies on abdominal and body palpation methods for diagnosis to find the cause of your disharmony or illness and bring you back into your wellness.

Fiona’s mission is to educate and help her clients and community to live their very best lives.

Fiona also has a special interest in treating mental health conditions including anxiety, stress, depression and PTSD. Fiona has certification in Transformational Acupuncture, under medical Doctor - Dr Alex Joannou. Working on the level of mind, body and spirit, Transformational Acupuncture is a safe and effective way to aid in the treatment of mental health conditions such as depression and anxiety. This style of treatment often provides the client with a sense of deep relaxation and calm.

For as long as Fiona can remember, she has always had an insatiable curiosity for human health and natural health. From a young age she wanted to know all of the tricks and tips to optimise her own health and to make others around me feel better. Her first understanding into healing began as a child when my mum would use reiki as a way to settle her busy mind and help her to sleep, and her dad taught her Buddhist breathwork and meditation. Ever since these early days, Fiona has been drawn to the healing nature that we hold in our very own hands.
